Expressionism

The Expressionist art movement was a style of art developed during the early 20th century by a group of German, Austrian and other European artists who sought to express emotion, mood, and psychological states through their artwork. The movement is characterized by a distorted or exaggerated representation of the subject matter in bright colors, expressive brush strokes, and a sense of tension.
