Donna Tartt is an American writer and the author of the novels The Secret History and The Goldfinch. She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, and attended Bennington College. Dan Flavin was an American minimalist artist who is best known for his work in light art. He often used fluorescent light tubes in his installations, which he arranged in various colors and shapes. His work was sometimes site–specific, and he often collaborated with architects on the placement of his lights.
Both Flavin and Tartt explore the idea of light in their works, with Flavin’s works featuring fluorescent light as a central motif and Tartt exploring the human philosophical imperative between dark and light in her writing.
