Max Ernst was a German-born French painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and poet. He was a primary pioneer of the Dada and Surrealist movements and is one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. He was famous for his experimental and innovative techniques, such as frottage, grattage, and decalcomania, as well as his use of found objects. He also developed a new kind of painting he called "psychological collage," which combined elements from various sources. His works often contained dreamlike imagery, and he was known for his exploration of the subconscious. Ernst's work has had a lasting impact on art and continues to influence contemporary artists.

The main similarity between Max Ernst and Stevie Nicks is their ability to explore the connection between dreams, fantasy, and the power of the subconscious. Both artists sought to create a bridge between the conscious and unconscious realms, often through surrealistic and dreamlike imagery. Ernst was a pioneer of the Dada movement and his work often featured abstract shapes, symbols, and elements of fantasy. Similarly, Nicks’ music often deals with themes of spirituality, dreams, and the power of the imagination.

Both artists also have an affinity for the natural world, with Ernst creating landscapes and Nicks writing songs about the beauty of nature. Additionally, both artists have a strong interest in the occult and mysticism, which can be seen in Ernst’s use of symbols and Nicks’ frequent references to tarot cards and magic in her lyrics.
