Robert Johnson: Delta Blues Pioneer

Born on this day in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, bluesman Robert Johnson left only 29 songs tracked during two recording sessions in his brief 27 year life, but continues to influence rock and blues music to this day. Having sold his soul  (according to legend) to the devil “at the crossroads” in order to master the guitar, Johnson’s blues playing and stylings have influenced such artists as the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan.
