Film Maverick Lars Von Trier

Film director Lars Von Trier was born in Denmark on this day in 1956. Responsible for the movement in cinema he co-authored  in 1995 called Dogme 95 (Dogma), which aimed to re-empower the director, Von Lier is known for Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark and Dogville, among many others.  He has been awarded the César and Palme d’Or and has been nominated for the Golden Globe and Academy Awards.
