Nachos and margaritas are a match made in culinary heaven. Like any great pairing, each item stands on their own. But, put them together and you have magic. In honor of Cinco De Mayo we want to give you a tasty treat to celebrate the Mexican holiday. So, take a ride with us on a tour of the ultimate nachos and margarita pairings.
Classic Margarita and Ground Beef Nachos
Classics are their for us to stave off order anxiety at a new restaurant. The classic ultimate nachos includes ground beef, pico de gallo, chopped onions, jalapenos, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Queso Quesadilla and Asadero cheeses on a bed of tortilla chips. Pair that with the original margarita and you can’t go wrong. Pro tip, go with frozen over an iced margartia. The timing of drinking a frozen feels heartier and is more compatible with nachos.
Strawberry Mango Margarita and Carnitas and Steak Ultimate Nachos
This one is my favorite. The strawberry mango margarita is a sweeter spin on the classic margarita. It’s a nice blend of the ingredients in its namesake.
- 3 cups frozen strawberries
- 3 cups ice
- 1 cup tequila
- ⅔ cup lime juice
- ½ cup Triple Sec
- ¼ cup simple syrup
- 3 cups frozen mango chunks
When I’m sipping this under the summer sun, everything is right with the world. Pair this sweet margarita with carnitas and steak ultimate nachos to start your summer off right.
Champagne Lemonade Margarita and Avocado and Lime Nachos
Champagne with pink lemonade, silver tequila and a dash of Triple Sec is the perfect pairing for the avocado in these ultimate nachos. The pink lemonade sets off the champagne in taste and color. And the mixture of the two leaves you with a gorgeous and tasty cocktail. The crispness of the champagne and refreshing smooth taste of avocado balance each other beautifully.
Blackberry Margarita Smash and Vegetarian Ultimate Nachos
Blend fresh blackberries with simple syrup, agave blanco tequila and Grand Marnier for this wild card margarita. Pair the blackberry margarita with a healthier and meatless spin on ultimate nachos, the loaded vegetarian nachos.
