About

Bauhaus was a German art school that was active from 1919-1933. The school was founded by Walter Gropius and was influential in developing modern art and design in the 20th century. Bauhaus focused on combining craftsmanship and fine art, emphasizing the practical and functional. Bauhaus artists experimented with various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, ceramics, weaving, and typography. They developed a new aesthetic that emphasized simplicity and efficiency and championed the use of industrial materials. Bauhaus was influential in developing many artistic movements, such as the Bauhaus style of architecture, the International Style in architecture, the De Stijl movement in painting, and the Bauhaus-inspired modernist style in design.
