About

Impressionism is a style of art that originated in France in the mid-19th century. In the late 1860s, a group of artists led by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Alfred Sisley began to break away from traditional painting techniques. Instead, they developed their styles of painting. Their works featured bright colors, thick brush strokes, and abstract forms. Impressionism is often characterized by its focus on natural light and the everyday scenes of modern life. Impressionist paintings typically featured landscapes, cityscapes, and scenes of everyday life often painted outdoors in natural light. The artists used broken brushstrokes and vivid colors to depict their subject matter in a way that was more suggestive than realistic.
