DAILY FUEL: Sylvia Path – Boldness Written

American author and poet SYLVIA PLATH  was born in Boston on this day in 1932, and published her first poem in the children’s section of the Boston Herald when she was eight. After attending Smith College, Plath attended the University of Cambridge on a Fulbright scholarship, eventually meeting and marrying poet Ted Hughes, with whom she returned to America. At the urging of Robert Lowell and Anne Sexton, she began writing from her experience, eventually arriving at the confessional style featured in her landmark novel “The Bell Jar”(1963). Sylvia Plath was posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry in 1982.
